Darryl L. Exum

After graduating from George Washington University with degrees in chemistry, he then went on to graduate from the University of San Diego School of Law.

He currently practices in all areas of Criminal law. His primary focus is trial work. He has represented individuals in a variety of matters including death penalty trials both state and federal, homicide cases, and more than 150 other felony jury trials. He has also conducted hundreds of preliminary hearings. Since 1991 he has represented individuals in more than 1,000 criminal matters, in both state and federal court. Mr, Exum is a Criminal Law Specialist certified by the State Bar of California Board 0f Legal Specialization.

Today, Darryl's practice is concentrated in high level criminal cases in State and Federal Court. Darryl has represented individuals in Federal Court in several states. In 2008 alone Darryl has tried 4 homicide trials to verdict. All four cases resulted in Acquittals. Darryl's practice is Predominantly centered in the Inland Empire; he is active in the community and sometimes takes cases at little or no cost that have been referred by various community groups.

Darryl is a frequent lecturer on many aspects of the trial process. His lecture audience includes the Public Defender's Office in Southern California and Bar Association in California as well as in other states. He was also a faculty member in the renowned National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia, He has also attended the 21 day trial skills Seminar at Gerry Spence's ranch in Dubois, Wyoming (his home away from home).

When not practicing law or speaking to other lawyers about the various aspects of trial work, Darryl enjoys movies, coaching his son's sports team and occasionally teaching a science class at his children's elementary school.
